Breaking The Rules Of Pain

You’re not broken.
You’re not weak.
You’re much stronger and more courageous than You think.

Following a traumatic childhood, Amie Rule – now a chronic pain, body empowerment, and energy coach – faced multiple debilitating conditions, including autoimmunity and fibromyalgia. Constantly battling symptoms but failing to address the cause, she felt lost, frustrated, hopeless. Desperate for answers, she looked outside of Western medicine and discovered that the rules of pain she had so blindly trusted were wrong.

Breaking the Rules of Pain guides you to view your pain and any chronic health condition with fresh eyes, showing you:

  • Where the rules of pain came from and why they’re flawed
  • How Western medicine and alternative therapies can complement one another
  • That pain is a message, a clue, a signal from your body that it needs support
  • How trauma and mental health affect your physical health
  • The importance of dismantling baseless shame and guilt
  • The power of becoming your own medical advocate
  • How to give your body the love and support it needs to heal

Breaking the Rules of Pain isn’t just about healing. It’s about living a life full of love, purpose, and joy regardless of your situation.

The time has come to redefine chronic pain, shatter any mental, physical, and emotional barriers that are holding you back, and reclaim your power – but you won’t be playing by the rules. You’ll be redefining them to make your own!

About Amie Rule

Amie Rule is a health and chronic pain coach with an interest in psychotherapy and understanding the impact of trauma on the mind, body, and spirit. After nearly a decade of struggling with chronic pervasive pain, she identified a gap in the market regarding how pain is perceived and approached, writing Breaking the Rules of Pain to address the gaps and challenges people with chronic health and autoimmune conditions face.

Amie has a bachelor’s degree in psychology, with a focus on loss and grief. When working with clients, she uses a person-centred trauma-informed approach.

Amie lives with her husband and two children on the Mornington Peninsula.
